As part of the Phaidon corner, Artazart and Phaidon were pleased to welcome one of the most influential American photographers of the 1970s, Stephen Shore, for an exceptional meeting! Born in New York in 1947, Stephen Shore was an avid visitor to Andy Warhol's Factory from the age of 17, photographing the artist and his entourage. At the age of 23, he became the first photographer to be honoured with a solo exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York during his lifetime. Since then, his photographs have been shown in numerous museums around the world. A pioneer in his field, Stephen Shore has influenced generations of photographers. In 1982, he was appointed director of the photography program at Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York.
