The photographs collected in "Intimate Distance," the first retrospective devoted to the American photographer, were taken over the past twenty-five years.
Sequenced chronologically, the work also includes stops on each of the books he has published so far, but, despite these editorial stops, it is always the portrait of another America, far from the idealized vision reflected by the American dream that is revealed. In this austere and empty country, in these silent alleys and endless roads, and even in these rooms barely inhabited by female bodies, untold stories and the beginning of possible scenarios begin. Nothing more normal for this cinema-loving madman who says he has the television on all the time...
