EXHIBITION - ELISE LEFEBRE & CLÉMENCE MONNET - FROM NOVEMBER 14TH 2019
Clémence Monnet is an illustrator and textile designer. Graduated from the DNSEP of the Institute of Visual Arts of Orléans, she first works in children's fashion, before giving a more important development to her practice of drawing, by exhibiting her work in Paris, and gradually entering the world of publishing and the press.
Working with mixed media drawing, she is inspired by everyday life and tries to give it a poetic and dreamlike dimension.

For Elise Lefebvre, it all began with years of bubbling ideas in the bath of applied arts.
The touchy-feely years gave way to two years of intertwining threads, dyeing vats, and colorful daubing at the Esaat in Roubaix. By pure postal chance or perhaps because she was born in Limoges, she ended up in the ceramic workshop of the Duperré school, between the columns of plaster molds and the buckets of enamels concocted by the generations that preceded her. It is with happiness that she discovers a rich and fascinating technique.
To the white of the plaster and the browns of the clay, she mixes the colors and patterns of the fabrics left in her pockets. With this particular mixture, she has created a certain identity.
Curiosity is a nice flaw, which throughout her career has led her to meet unusual characters such as Guy Eliche, modeler-moulder, Nestor Perkal, director of the Craft and Valéria Polsinelli, ceramist.
Since July 2004, installed in her own workshop, she continues her research on tableware and jewelry.
Her collections with simple and pure forms pile up for a while on the shelves and color the workshop with polka dots, stripes or floral patterns. These creations, which she produces in small batches, are then sent to fairs, markets, and boutiques.

The universe of each of the two artists is quite similar, that's why Artazart decided to gather their works in the same space.
See you from Thursday, November 14 at Artazart, to discover their beautiful work and take a look at it!
