OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION "CORPS À CORPS, ACTE II" - VICTOIRE ORTH - THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5 FROM 6PM

Victoire Orth began the "Corps à corps" series in 2020, mirror in one hand, film in the other. In her Paris studio, she creates self-portraits that she develops herself. These images are born of a need to explore the body and its fluidity. The photographer probes the singularities, changes and expressive possibilities of gender.

Little by little, she brings both male and female models into her world. A new temporality is created in the series: from the self-portrait, she moves on to the bodies of others, from the refusal of binarity to the blending of skins. The female profiles also give way to muscles and hair.

Redrawing the boundaries of genre, Victoire Orth approaches the nude in all its intimacy and sensitivity. She thinks of the self, outside structures.
