Bernard Plossu, often considered France’s greatest contemporary photographer, takes us on a journey to Lisbon.
His black-and-white work is like “cinema photography”, with a before and an after, even if it’s the emotion of the present that predominates.
The man who reminds us that a photographer “has the chance he deserves” captures Portuguese saudade in a portrait of a melancholy city imbued with a gentle, benevolent nostalgia.
