In 2015, the documentary “In No Great Hurry: 13 life lessons with Saul Leiter” gave the Japanese public the opportunity to discover the master precursor of colorist photographers.
This was followed in spring 2017 by a first retrospective exhibition at the Bunkamura Museum of Art in Tokyo, in cooperation with the Saul Leiter Foundation, of which this book is a kind of catalog.
Elegant passers-by, a little girl playing between cars, letter carriers walking under snowflakes, mist-covered shop windows, fugitive silhouettes, companions caught undressing…
This monograph, which covers his personal work in the streets of New York’s East Village, which he walked for over fifty years, as well as his work as a fashion photographer, notably for Haarper Bazaar, his paintings and his intimate photos, has been unanimously acclaimed by Artazart.
This rare book was received in very small quantities and will unfortunately be sold out shortly…
