ANIMAN - Anouk Ricard

Animan, Anouk Ricard’s latest album, which has just won the Fauve prix spécial du jury at the 2023 Angoulême Festival, tells the story of Francis, aka Animan. In a series of short, humorous stories, Anouk Ricard takes her inspiration from the 1980s TV series Manimal, in which a man transforms himself into an animal to solve investigations. She recounts not only the investigations, but also Animan’s life, and his encounters and battles with his sworn enemy, Objecto.

The book is punctuated by paintings, as in some of Anouk Ricard’s previous albums.
