La Compagnie des Snapshoters is an association formed around a shared passion: photography, or more precisely “snapshots”, the Anglo-Saxon term for family photographs. Its aim is to disseminate and promote these photographs, which are often overlooked, but which sometimes conceal real treasures for those who take the time to look at them carefully. In addition to their primary function of family memory, these photographs also have an undeniable documentary aspect. However, while these documents are now well exploited by historians, their aesthetics are often overlooked. We sometimes find surprising and unconventional images, or on the contrary, shots worthy of the greatest professionals of the eighth art. It’s these shots that the Compagnie des Snapshoters brings to the fore.

The photos are presented in diptychs, and respond to each other. With no contextual captions or subjective text, it’s up to the viewer to use the similarities between the two images (framing, symmetry, motif, technique, etc.) and his or her own imagination to “create” his or her own story.

Nous sommes ouverts 7J/7 et 363 jours par an, excepté les 25 décembre et 1^er janvier.  Passez donc quand vous voulez !
