EPIC – Volume 12 - Epic

Every quarter, the independent magazine EPIC brings together 4 major photographic stories, detached from the immediate news, but which bear witness to our times. In order to highlight the long-term work of photographers, who sometimes linger on subjects for several years, EPIC has chosen a slow-moving medium and wide-ranging images. It chooses in-depth subjects that speak to us about the trends of our time and feed our general culture and curiosity, without falling into deceptive emotionalism.

EPIC brings together four photo stories of around thirty pages each, followed by an interview with the photographers. This issue’s contents:
Paradise – Maxime Riché documents California’s megafires and poses the question of Man’s adaptation to his environment.
Air chronicles – Djamal Benmokhtar has been an airline pilot for 26 years and photographs the behind-the-scenes of his flying life.
Brighton – Chris Harrison offers us a parenthesis to flan in this British city.
Souvenir d’un futur – Laurent Kronental freezes large housing estates and the utopia they represent, questioning Man’s habitat.
