For a long time, women were kept away from the practice of official medicine, but they have never stopped developing their talents as healers, and this, since Antiquity. This book proposes to highlight some fifty remarkable figures in the field of healing, from the origins to the present day. Mythological figures, witches, mystics, shamans and therapists... Famous or lesser known, from all continents, they are revealed under the combined pens of a writer and an artist. So many diptychs associating a face to a story, from Circe to Starhawk, through Hildegarde de Bingen, Maria Sabina or Florence Nightingale.

With Guérisseuses d'hier et d'aujourd'hui (Healers of yesterday and today), Sheina Szlamka (illustration) and Aurélie Godefroy (writing) offer a beautiful illustrated discovery of this ancient profession.
