Fanny Dreyer evokes the journey towards autonomy and self-fulfillment, as well as the child’s ability to recreate a balance outside family reference points. By reintegrating each individual within the group, the author-illustrator casts an attentive and enchanted eye on these little societies that invent themselves during the vacations. Fanny Dreyer also celebrates the children’s relationship with nature, at the heart of the camp’s events, in paintings that exude a magnetic gentleness and grace.
