Fanny Dreyer evokes the path towards autonomy and self-fulfilment, as well as the child's ability to recreate a balance outside of family reference points. By reintegrating each individuality into the group, the author-illustrator casts an attentive and enchanted eye on these small societies that invent themselves during the holidays.
