Brecht Evens was twenty-two years old when he graduated from the Saint Luke's School in Ghent (Belgium) with his graduation project, Les Noceurs, under his arm. His inimitable style, which is characterized by a remarkable mastery of color and transparency, the explosion of perspectives and a taste for detail, immediately arouses enthusiasm.

Published in 2010, Les Noceurs won the Audacity prize at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. With the publication of Les Amateurs (2011) and Panthère (2014), Brecht Evens' fame has continued to grow, in France, where he now lives, as well as abroad, and now goes far beyond the borders of the comics world. In 2018, he published Les Rigoles with Actes Sud BD, an impressive graphic novel of more than 300 pages, which tells the wanderings of three night owls in a chimerical and sublime city. For this comic book, Brecht Evens receives the Fauve - Special Jury Prize at the Angoulême International Comics Festival 2019. Between books, Brecht Evens works for the press, fashion, and is represented by the Martel Gallery in Paris. His graphic novels are published by Actes Sud BD.
