“Aren’t our bodies likewise subject to the law of continual transformation? What we were yesterday, what we are today, tomorrow we shall be no more.” Ovid, The Metamorphoses, Book 15 (1st century AD)
Les Métamorphoses continues Letizia Le Fur’s sensitive interpretation of myths. This second book, inspired by Ovid’s eponymous work, evokes the transformations of beings when they must seduce, conquer or flee, in a nature where plant, animal and mineral can mix and sometimes end up merging. Working with color as a painter would, the photographer summons the power of wild landscapes, the poetry of surrounding nature, naked bodies and animals in her images imbued with mystery.
The photographs are accompanied by a text by Gilou Le Gruec.
