ON THE ROAD - The Anonymous project

Hoxton Mini Press -

Books in English.

192 pages. Format 21 x 16 cm.

These vintage photographs take you on a journey through the highways of Europe and America, celebrating the spirit of Kerouac's Great Road. Family trips and first cars, unscheduled stops and incredible vistas are rediscovered from found color slides selected from the Anonymous Project's collection of over 800,000. The people photographed here may be unknown, but these photos capture a familiar excitement: getting behind the wheel and setting off to see where the road takes you. After a year in which people around the world have been confined to their homes, the call for adventure rings louder than ever.

The Anonymous project

A real revelation of the Rencontres de la photo d'Arles 2019, The Anonymous Project was born from the desire of a duo of photography enthusiasts to give a second life to kodachrome slides received or chintzed in England and across the Atlantic.

The goal? To collect as many slides as possible and to make a magisterial database, eclectic and accessible to as many people as possible.

"The House", published by Textuel is the collection resulting from this fabulous project.

Amusing and moving, the archives that make up this book celebrate the unforgettable memories within the house and draw the contours of an ordinary but precious memory.
