Lapin, born in 1981, is a French artist living in Barcelona since 2007. He works as an illustrator for press, fashion and advertising, and has been a member of the “Urban Sketchers” community since it was founded in 2008.

Lapin defines himself as a “mobile illustrator”, lugging his notebook and watercolors on the street, in a bar, on the subway, from Cuba to Hong Kong. He has filled some 190 notebooks over the past 16 years, most of them old accounting ledgers he’d found at a Barcelona flea market.
For him, a good notebook should contain at least one old car and one dinosaur.

In addition to documenting his daily life in these multiple notebooks, Lapin teaches the art of sketching at workshops and conferences around the world.

We’re open 7 days a week, 363 days a year, except on 25 December and 1 January. So drop in whenever you like!

Lapin

Lapin is a French artist living in Barcelona. He defines himself as a “mobile illustrator”, lugging his notebook and watercolors on the street, in bars, on the subway, from Texas to Shanghai. His medium of choice: old accounting ledgers found at flea markets.

He has published some twenty facsimiles of his notebooks, including the famous “Paris, je t’aime”, which gave rise to an exhibition at Artazart in summer 2016.
