THE CIRCUIT - Bruce Gilden

Born in 1946 in Brooklyn, New York, Bruce Gilden is best known for his street photography. He has published over twenty books and has been a member of the prestigious MAGNUM agency since 1998. He is also the recipient of numerous prizes and awards, including the Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship in 2013.

The Circuit begins with the death of George Floyd in 2020, murdered by police in Minneapolis. Riots rage across the United States. Bruce Gilden attends a prayer service for George Floyd, which takes place in the midst of a noisy and spectacular biker crowd. After this event, Bruce Gilden has only one thing on his mind: “Find the Bikers…”.

Thus began a relationship that continues to this day. Determined to explore the “biker life”, Bruce Gilden embarks on a social itinerary of the MC Circuit. He photographs relentlessly in, outside and far beyond New York.
