La Compagnie des Snapshoters is an association that was formed around a common passion: photography or more precisely "snapshots", the Anglo-Saxon term for family photographs. Its goal is to promote and disseminate these photographs, which are often neglected, but which sometimes contain real treasures if you take the time to look at them carefully. In addition to their primary function of family memory, these photographs also have an undeniable documentary aspect. However, if these documents are now well exploited by historians, their aesthetics is often put aside. We sometimes find surprising and unconventional images, or on the contrary, shots worthy of the greatest professionals of the eighth art. It is these shots that the Snapshoters Company puts forward.
The photos are presented in diptych and answer each other. Without any contextual caption or subjective text, it is up to the "viewer", through the similarities of the two images (framing, symmetry, motif, technique...) and his or her own imagination, to "make" his or her own story.
