ELISE LEFEBVRE – LES GARDIENS

A graduate of the Metiers d’art in ceramics from the Duperré school, Elise Lefebvre set up her own studio in Limoges in 2oo4, where she quickly made a name for herself. She has long explored animal and floral themes, and particularly enjoys composing scenes where wild creatures and humans cohabit. In “Les Gardiens”, she borrows from folk art, the statuary of remote temples, protective gris-gris and vials of magic elixirs to write a new tale of mystery and love hidden in the heart of the forest.

From the white of plaster, to the colorful paintings of motifs, to the soft glaze of enamel, her creations, produced in small series, plunge viewers into an enchanted universe.

Elise is a member of the “La Clef” collective with Cécile Basecq, Lyndie Dourthe and Franck Dorat, who are exhibiting at the same time.

See the exhibition “Les Gardiens” at Artazart au bord du Canal from November 22 to January 7, 2019 …
