To mark the release of the latest Lomo’Instant Square camera, Artazart and Lomography are organizing the LOMO’SQUARE exhibition and invite you to discover photographs by Laura Bonnefous and Camille Vivier taken with the Lomo’Instant Square instant camera. Lomography accompanies and supports contemporary creation and regularly collaborates with artists. The LOMO’SQUARE exhibition is a proposal based on the idea of variable geometry, with Laura Bonnefous and Camille Vivier modifying the shapes of objects and bodies, offering new perceptions. Plastic photographer Laura Bonnefous will be exhibiting her DAILY TOTEM series, a photographic experimentation with everyday objects. In her instantaneous photographs, she hijacks objects to compose surreal images in her studio atelier. Camille Vivier’s series, meanwhile, consists of hypnotic overprints of her legs: the artist demultiplies herself in the photographs, a delightfully retro and surreal metamorphosis not unlike Hans Bellmer’s La Poupée.
Workshops are offered throughout May at Artazart:
Saturday May 26 and Saturday June 16 – LomoWalk: These workshops, organized from the Artazart bookshop, will be an opportunity to meet other lomographers, discover the exhibition and learn how to use the Lomo’Instant Square camera. Accompanied by a photographer’s guide, participants will stroll through the Canal Saint Martin district, around the emblematic red bookshop in Paris’s 10th arrondissement. For this LomoWalk, a Lomo’Instant Square camera will be loaned to participants to let their imaginations run wild.
Meet at 11am on Saturday May 26 or Saturday June 16 at Artazart. 10€ participation, this fee includes the loan of a camera, a class, a pack of 10 Instax Square photos.
Saturday, June 2 and June 9 – Overprint workshop: The Lomo’Instant Square has the creative features typical of Lomography cameras, such as the Multiple Exposure Mode that enables unlimited overprints! This workshop is dedicated to the photographic technique of overprinting, which allows you to superimpose several images on a single photo. Discover this fun and magical way of shooting with the Lomo’Instant Square. The opportunity to have images juxtaposed and use Lomo’Instant Square accessories like the Splitzer, flash and lens color filters.
