First staff photographer for Le Monde newspaper, with whom he collaborated for over 20 years.

While Gil Rigoulet is best known for his Street Photo of the 70s and 80s, inspired by his travels around the world, in the 80s he developed a passion for aquatic photography. Always considering water to be his true natural element, he began the “Corps & Eau” series at this time, which he would complete from 2014, when he returned to swimming pools. He continues his work on water in Polaroid with the series “Pola Pool” and becomes French ambassador for Polaroid Originals.

A loyal friend of the emblematic bookshop-gallery, he takes over the premises once again from May 06 to June 13, 2021 with “La Piscine“, a colorful exhibition in Polaroid format.
A testament to a lifestyle and freedom specific to the 80s, which he holds so dear. Water and bodies assembled under the sun and Gil Rigoulet’s lens, as if to help us remember what we are deprived of and will nonetheless soon find again.
