“My luck is that I’ve always known I was lucky. Indeed, being twenty-two in 1962 already made me a privileged person, but finding myself by chance in the right place with the right person was a miracle”. With “Rencontres”, Jean-Marie Périer presents a photographic retrospective of the legendary Anglo-Saxon music artists of the 1950s and 1960s, peppered with often-suculent anecdotes about his encounters with the major artists of the ’60s. Two hundred photographs, most of them previously unpublished, allow us to slip into the lives of timeless international icons. Through the eyes and memories of the photographer, we approach their intimacy and even their humanity.
