“Grand Cru” is first and foremost the story of one man, Gérard Descrambe, a Saint Emilion winemaker and pioneer of organic wine, who was a UFO in the world of oenology in the 1960s.
A companion of Hara-Kiri and Charlie-Hebdo, he supplied bottles of wine to the editors, who designed original, tasty labels for him.
His meeting with Dominique Hutin, journalist, self-taught oenologist and wine columnist, gave birth to this beautiful book, which plunges us into the heart of half a century of winegrowing history through the discovery of several vintages.
Each vintage is illustrated by an original label from the Charlie Hebdo team: Carali, Cavanna, Florence Cestac, Charb, Choron, Fred, Gébé, Gondot, Hugot, Ivars Iturria, Jiho, Lerouge, Lasserpe, Lécroart, Lefred-Thouron, Lindingre, Margerin, Medi, Nicoulaud, Nicoly, Pichon, Reiser, Schlingo, Charly, Siné, Teulé, Tignous, Topor, Vuillemin, Willem, Wolinski.
