Kiblind magazine and Artazart have at least 2 things in common, except for all the others: a taste for great adventures and a keen interest in contemporary illustration. What could be more natural than a Tour de France en image, with a stable of talents from here and abroad, to plunge straight into summer?
It’s a first Tour de France, published on June 13, from La Grande Motte to Chateauroux, via Bison Futé, car games, data camping and 16 ultra-touristic landscapes entrusted to 16 favorite illustrators. Through their eyes, the magazine takes a second look at these places. With her psychedelic vehicles, Finnish artist Annu Kilpelaïnen was chosen for the cover, the starting point for this tour which is anything but sporty: no running or cycling, just quiet roads to take the time to explore the territories of this country which seems to be ours…
Based on the original creations published in the magazine, Kiblind and Artazart are offering a brand-new collective exhibition, a Tour de France illustrated in 16 stages. It will run from June 20 to the end of the summer. The event will bring together the creations of Annu Kilpelaïnen and 16 works in the form of itineraries, from the Canal Saint-Martin to the Vieux Port de Marseille, from the gardens of Villandry to the beach huts of Calais, from the Millau Viaduct to the vineyards of Burgundy… And for souvenir enthusiasts, the illustrations will also be published on a series of postcards, travel diaries, risoTM posters and even a limited-edition bath towel.
