Dogs assembles 200 drawings by Jochen Gerner conceived in line with his study of birds published in 2021 (Editions B42).

Equipped with Indian ink markers and school notebooks, Jochen Gerner conducts a new graphic experimentation in Chiens . Thanks to countless variations in dimensions, contours, textures and coats, the artist draws up a varied inventory of canine breeds – real, semi-real or chimerical: bichon frisé, épagneul bleu de Picardie, scottish-terrier with conifer thorn coats…

With this new bestiary that is as much realistic illustration as forward-looking drawing, Jochen Gerner invites us to take a whimsical look at the world, and once again proves the singularity of his observation of it.
