Born in Paris, Philippe Kohn started out in photography as a reporter and producer of social essays. A freelance photographer for 11 years, he then worked for the press and in communications. He then joined the Rapho agency, where he created and ran the corporate department for 12 years. In his personal work, he gradually detaches himself from a journalistic vision and moves away from the city to survey natural territories on his own. He produced the series “Haute Lumière”in the grounds of the Saint-Guénolé monastery, in Brittany, and “Terre d’ardoise”: a land that men have dug for centuries to extract slate, leaving immense vertical walls bare.

Other images follow, taken in the various rooms of his home: “Au plus près” is a tribute to the transfiguration carried by light when it settles on our everyday lives.

We’re open 7 days a week, 363 days a year, except on 25 December and 1 January. So drop in whenever you like!
