A graduate of ECV Paris, Cosmo Danchin-Hamard is a young illustrator who lives and works in Le Havre. Her visual style, which is both pop and retro, draws on the ‘ligne claire’ style of comic books, 1950s illustration and Pre-Raphaelite influences. Featuring women in particular, her illustrations always tell a story, brimming with a myriad of funny and colourful details and often accompanied by a comic-style speech bubble containing a sarcastic comment. Cosmo’s work reveals a boundless, offbeat and unique imagination. “Be yourself, everyone else is already taken” (Oscar Wilde) is her favourite quote, and she embodies it perfectly.
Since its founding in July 2000, Artazart has celebrated and championed illustration in all its forms — from children’s books to graphic design and illustrated novels.
Today, we’re taking it a step further: we publish the artists who inspire us every day. Over 100 illustrators create original works for Artazart, each numbered and limited to 200 copies.
These are rare creations, yet always accessible, so that everyone can bring art into their daily lives.
