STEPHEN SHORE // PHAIDON CORNER

As part of the Phaidon corner, Artazart and Phaidon were delighted to welcome one of the most influential American photographers of the 70s, Stephen Shore, for an exceptional encounter! Born in New York in 1947, Stephen Shore was a regular visitor to Andy Warhol’s Factory from the age of 17, photographing the artist and his entourage. At the age of 23, he became the first photographer in his lifetime to be honored with a solo exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Since then, his photographs have been shown in museums around the world. A pioneer in his field, Stephen Shore has influenced generations of photographers. In 1982, he was appointed Director of the Photography Studies Program at Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York.
