The This is not a map collection is designed by photography specialists Poetry Wanted. These completely useless maps celebrate the encounter between a photographer and a place.
After Brooklyn, Lisbon and Paris, This is not a map makes a stopover in Saint-Malo. From Intra-Muros to the Rochers Sculptés, via the Pointe de la Varde and the Cité d’Aleth, photographers Gaëlle Magder, a native of Brittany by adoption, and Guillaume Lebrun, a native of Saint-Malo by birth, have taken a fresh look at these much-photographed places.
The 33 photographs presented here, taken during several visits, paint an intimate and moving portrait of the land that inspires them so much.
A text by writer Hélène Gestern, who has a strong connection with Saint-Malo and photography, accompanies their images.
The exhibition will be on view on the canal until June 10.
