CE QUI NOUS LIE – Anne Laval

From spring to winter, we follow the shared moments of a little girl and her grandmother, the questions of one and the answers of the other. Who is big, who is small? We measure ourselves by the yardstick of trees and flowers. Everything grows. The mother is not far away, she also appears from time to time. Three daughters are there, in the midst of life and the passing of time.

Anne Laval tells a marvellous story of “what binds us” from one generation to the next. But she also tells what links us, tiny humans, to the rest of the world. In this album, illustrated with stamps and a mixture of gouache, pencil and pastel, Anne Laval explores the beauty of time passing, of children growing like flowers and of love growing.
