As he calls himself, Bernard Plossu has been roaming the world for years, capturing through his lens furtive moments when birds are caught in full flight, forming immense swarms, standing alone in the middle of a body of water, balancing on electric wires or soaring solitary among the peaks. Flight fascinates the photographer, from the intoxicating speed of swallows to the hypnotic immobility of great birds of prey carried aloft by the wind.
He shows us fragments of the world, a world where birds reinvest our space.

This book, along with the one by Pentti Sammallahti, inaugurate the Des oiseaux (Birds) collection, celebrating, through the eyes of different artists, their immense presence in a world where they are now fragile.
