An intimate and beautiful photographic odyssey.
In 1987, the photographer took his family to Stromboli. The trip marked the start of a photographic odyssey.
For 30 years, Bernard Plossu criss-crossed the small Italian islands, dopo l’estate, in the company of his wife Françoise Nuñez. This tiny odyssey is the photographer-poet’s longest and most intimate journey.
In 1988, the French Institute in Naples granted him a residency. He settled in Lipari. His photographs capture the beauty of the landscapes of Salina, Alicudi, Capri, Favignana, Lampedusa and Ustica, among others….. This body of work, never before presented in its entirety, is a declaration of love to Italy.
